York's Wild Kindgom

We  enjoyed a wonderful day at York's Wild Kingdom with  one of our favorite people, Laura!

It was quite difficult to feed this deer - she kept snatching food from the feeder before we could fill our hands.

 Paddle boats!

 One talented elephant.

Feeding the elephant a snack.

Last beach day

I took the boys to Pemaquid Beach last weekend to savor what was most likely our last beach trip of the year -sigh.  We live so close to many beautiful spots, but the summers seems to fly by too quick.  Alas, this was one lovely day.  In spite of those renegade seagulls who swiped our chips (we're onto you, birdies).
 beach bums

Brody was fascinated with all the sea critters we found in the tidal pools - a variety of little crabs

We did enjoy the surf as well, but it was a little dicey to try and hold hands a photograph those moments...

Union Fair 2011

Saturday night we had an impromptu family date night at our local Union State Fair.  This has always been one of my favorite fairs - I'm not sure if it is the familiar faces, smaller venue, or manageable size, but altogether it ROCKS!
Dad and Brody in our inaugural Ferris Wheel ride - usually the first event of our fair.

 The views from on high!

"Mommy, now I'm Wolverine!" says my superhero-obsessed-soon-to-be-kindergartener.

The "scary ride"

I don't think Logan knew what he was in for - at the end I could hear him calling "I don't want to do this ride anymore!"...and it justified about 18 rounds of "Mommy, can I sleep in your bed???" post-fair.

Happy bees - can you tell how overstimulated Brody is?  He literally bounced from ride to ride.

The prize of the night - BATMAN!

This slide was indeed a favorite of both boys - I lost count of the number of turns they took - well worth the ride bracelet investment.

Wow - how did they grow big enough to ride on their own???
Thanks, Union, for an amazing night.
