Later Gator

Logan is solid enough to be a passenger now, too, and this is by far their favorite activity together.

There is not many sweeter shots than this...funny how I always imagined a couple of girls on ponies, and I never knew this could be more heart-filling.

First Hike

It was a stunning day yesterday - temps near seventy, nice breeze, few bugs. Doesn't getmuch better than that.

With all the elements in place, we set off for our first hike of the season, a little trek down the beach path at Medomak Camp, ending at the lake with a snack picnic. Due to my children's love of the water, the snack part was rather brief, and our beach stay consisted mostly of Logan doing his "I'm a limp noodle so you can't pick me up" trick in an effort to run into the lake, and me doing my best to prevent this.

When we returned from the woods portion of the hike, Brody and Logan turned around and were ready to go back to the beach. After a little battle of wills, I tried the old reverse-psychology, "I'm going home now"...doesn't work well with my kids...here, Brody was saying " Okay, bye-bye Mommy."

Cheep Cheep!

The baby chicks have arrived ,and the boys couldn't be happier.

This big boy put his boots on all by himself - and even on the right feet (better than mom does sometimes)!

Sheepish

We visited the neighbor's farm on our walk to the Post Office yesterday. She had several baby lambs, most which were black. Since she bottle-feeds them, they were very friendly and happy to visit with us.

Let's Go Fly a Kite

The Easter Bunny brought kites for the boys, and luckily Easter was a blustery day.

Easter morning

Here comes Peter Cottontail...

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny and YMCA Easter Egg Hunt

The boys and I went to the Penobscot YMCA in Rockport yesterday for Breakfast with the Easter Bunny followed by the egg hunt. They were so good - very patient as we waited to enter, on empty tummies after being dragged out of bed and the house by 7am.

Logan was way more fascinated by the forks than he was the food.

Brody was my good eater - pancakes are his favorite.

A kinder, gentler Easter Bunny, with floppy ears and a fun painted face vs. the Mall Bunny O' Horror...yes, we attempted the Mall scene, but the bunny was "too cawey, Mommy (muffled sobs)." So these pics are it for this year.

Here we are at the beginning of the egg hunt. You can't tell from the picture, but it actually snowed that morning! A first for me, hunting for eggs in the snow.

Brody went right to work, and especially enjoyed climbing up the playsets to find eggs.

Logan thought at first the eggs were some kind of moroccas..but soon found the yummy joys inside.

Couldn't get these crazy kids to look at me for this pic.

More house pics III

Please pardon my overwhelming house picture posting...can't help myself, I'm just so eager to move in!

This is our breakfast bar - just love those corbels under the bar.

And here is the back part of the island, more kitchen counter/prep area...

the obvious...

As though Brody hasn't had enough Easter candy, he is trying to dig into Duane's mint stash at our kitchen island.

We happened upon our painter-friends...Jim mistook Brody for a wall, I guess...somehow his partner Tina has evaded the lens....watch out, Tina. We'll catch you, too!

Brody adores playing hide and seek in the closets of the house. This one happens to be in his room. Every time he and Logan are here, they immediately find a closet to hide in.

This is the floor of our master bath - Duane created a beautiful tile rug, but it's kind of hard to see in the picture.

And here is our vanity in the master bath.

Elmo love

Apparently dogs love Elmo, too...

Logan is bouncing between one and two naps a day lately...guess I pushed it too late this day. Please pardon the night-night song montage...

Colors of the rainbow

Our friends have returned from their globe-trotting, and have been working tirelessly to bring some color into our home - so far, this is what we've got (after a few "what were we thinking" do-overs)...

This is our masterbedroom, a sage-khahi color...there is a sliding glass door to the right and a small gas woodstove will be installed between the 2 windows.

And this is our masterbathroom - a lighter version of that bedroom color...

This is Logan's bedroom - one of those do-overs that was a little mix of lime/mint green, now re-painted to a kinder shade of sage...
And this is Brody's room - a snappy blue!

This is the sitting room outside of our bedrooms...and Jim, one of our painter-friends...another do-over room....ballet-slipper pink was not what I envisioned on that first color chip...much nicer in "berber white"

This is part of our foyer.

And our dining room.

Our library...

And lastly, our fireplace nook near the kitchen.
