Pre-party

Yesterday we hosted a dual birthday party for both Logan and Brody. We found it was just not right to ask guests to come to two parties in the snowiest month of the year, and since Brody's actual birthday fell on a Saturday, lucky boy #1 had the party on his day. We also had little guests at our party for the first time, and we are very grateful everyone made the trip to our place for some pre-school fun. I think the most fun I had was preparing for the party (don't get me wrong, the party was a blast!). Brody wanted me to "build" him a cake - so this was my best shot for both cakes.Pre-carnage dining roomBalloons from GrandmommyBreakfast for the birthday boy - waffles, upon request.

And we partied like there was no tomorrow...

Gifts and Carnage

The boys received amazing gifts at their party - hence, the carnage. The gifts were so amazing, in fact, that we forgot to give them our big gift - an incredibly cool-ultra-svelte-italian-looking set of Trek Tricycles. Hard to tell who loves them more, the adults or kids!

After my shower this morning, I heard little feet running up the hallway to our room. Logan had been watching a show while I dressed, and I heard Brody tell his brother, "Here, Bubba, share my blanket so you can be warm and cozy" - I love these moments.

We were graced with yet more snow last week - feet of it, so it seems. The boys didn't mind one bit.

New shades and pretty pooches

We finally received Brody's new glasses, after 2 months of wearing our back ups. This picture doesn't do them justice, but they are way cool - the lenses darken in the sun so he actually doesn't have to squint anymore! The most expensive we have purchased for him, hopefully they will last more than a month!

Happy Birthday to Logan

My baby is officially 2 years old. Now he is losing those chunky thighs, gaining some definition in his chubby little face, and requires a plane ticket to fly. Seems like yesterday he came hollerin' into the world, ready to take on anything at just a few minutes old. Still ready to run, always on big brother's heels, not-so-little-Logan is undeniably two.

Snow play

Our 2 snow buddies

Logan insisted on pulling Brody in the sled. Logan is almost 2 years old, and Brody is nearly 4. Logan managed without too much trouble, including hauling his big bro up the hill to the barn!

A whole junk of snow

Brody uses the word "junk" in an interesting way - I think he believes "junk" means " a lot." When he saw the nearly 20 inches of snow, he said "Mommy, there's a whole junk snow outside." And there was.Daddy built a very impressive addition to our snow family.Lady, the newest addition to our bovine family. She is expecting in June!

Big little boy

I guess you can't keep them little forever. Logan has been asking for a big bed, so we finally took the rail down, and he is officially on the loose. He awakes from each rest quite proud of himself, as I hear the pitter patter of little running feet, and Logan screeching "big rest!!!"
